The last couple of years I have had fun making my boys their own student planners, and this year I decided to make the pages in a Lord of the Rings theme and I have the student planner printable pages to share with everyone.

The student planner printable pages have been created with our own school approach in mind – that is, following Ambleside Online for our homeschool. So some of these student planner printable pages – or at least elements of them – may not be of use to you and your students.

When various portions of the student planner printable have multiple pages within the same category I have combined the pages into a multi page pdf to keep things simple – I have noted what is in each combined pdf in the text on the image as well as below each image.

To access each of the student planner printable pdfs simply click on the corresponding image to be directed to the pdf.

These schedule sheets are for a weekly schedule. The file has 12 sheets, each layout is identical but there is a different Tolkien quote on each one. In our case, where we follow a 36 week long school year, I would print three of these to get 36 pages.

The weekly schedule sheet – or weekly quest as it has been titled – has a grid style for the subjects and days of the week.
It also features the special subjects they are to do during the week and a ring to mark how many times they’re to do it each week. They check off the ring as they complete it.
Note: I require one written narration in term one for my fifth grader (when we start written narrations). I simply X out the additional two rings each week. Each term in year five adds an additional written narration and year 6 is three written narrations a week.

Lord of the Rings Planner Student Pages {homeschool planner}Every year I have given the boys a blank calendar for them to fill in – so of course this years just had to match our LOTR theme. I think it is good for them to go through the exercise of filling in the dates, and I have them log important dates and occasions through the year. This calendar has two monthly grids per page. I made them a 12 month spread, so printed 6 of these.

These pages are to keep track of interesting information regarding the men and women we are studying. They definitely are not necessary for an AO education, but are something we have enjoyed. The Shakespeare and Plutarch pages are new this year – I am thinking they can draw as we read.
I have printed one set per term (so three sets).

These are the pages I have used within our notebook – the inside cover (far left in image) and the back cover (far right in image) and then dividers for the three terms. I print one set for the whole book.

Instead of a formal spelling program we use dictation – and honestly it has been amazing! The boys study the text – including punctuation – all week and on Friday’s I say it outloud and they write it from memory. It took a couple months from the time we first started to me seeing it working, but I am totally sold on it! I have one page per term (for a total of three pages) of literary quotes. These are a bit shorter than what I think Charlotte Mason intended for their age levels, but this is what works for us right now, and therefore what we are doing. There is plenty of time to add longer and more complicated passages.

I do have an assortment of printables in my Etsy shop that can work as front covers, including the above Tolkien quote. This and others can be found here.

I hope this will be a blessing and fun addition to your school planning! Please feel free to share a link to this page on Pinterest or your fav social media places. Please do not sell the content I have created, or place it directly on your own website. Thank you!

These are incredible! Thank you so much for blessing us Charlotte Mason homeschoolers with such a valuable tool. This LOTR set is not coming up or downloading for either me or my husband, who tried at his work–am I doing something incorrectly?

Actually – I just checked the first set of downloads and it worked. Are you clicking on the images?
If so, what happens on your end when you do?
